Here is a paper i submitted to a post in psychology when asked 'what can you tell about a person with the items they surround themselves with'

I think the type of media a person surrounds themselves with is a great indication of what kind of person they are. here are some of my thoughts, and they are only my thoughts-country music means you are lonely and depresses, romance novels mean you are really lonely and depressed, house keeping and home improvement magazines means you think you are a slob, any kind of sports nut has to be kind of crazy and competitive, sometimes to the most annoying extreme. Alcohol means you either like to party a ton and not remember how much fun you had, or that you are trying to drink away how much fun that you really didn't have. Smokes means you are trying to fit in, at least that is what the media now days tells us, it might be that you just like to smoke, and if you smoke cigars you have class and style. to much blue means you are a crypt and to much red makes you a blood. Drugs mean you don't know how to have a good time by yourself, and if you do drugs in a group it means that whole group is boring and does not know how to come up with anything fun to do. pictures of yourself and friends everywhere means you are insecure about yourself and your friendships with others. If you go to college and still play with that awesome Luke sky walker who's legs don't bend that you got in 1987 means you are still a child, where as if you proudly display that ma'ama on your trophy shelf you are a collector, but be careful not to collect so much that you become a hoarder because then you are showing that you don't think that you are loved, and you surround yourself with that stuff because you love everything to much to let go. porn means you are a perv or that you need a girl friend, and if you have a girlfriend why do you have porn? Anything to do with trucks is awesome, monster truck especially, you will know this person by the sweet pair of cowboy boots, blue jeans that have stains and tears on them, different color belt still in the pants that don't match the boots with an over sized belt buckle, and of course the all impressive white, nicely ironed, wife beater that is 8 sized to small and shows off the muscles you don't have, the tooth pic you have been using since second grade and a mesh hat that has some derogatory or sly sexual innuendo on it that makes you laugh every time you put it on and walk past you mom, who you live with and does not get the saying, or your hat that is a cheap knock off of a real cowboy hat, that tells you this person is a red neck. some people have to much black, this means that this person is a person who probably loves Halloween, and killing cute animals. if you are surrounded by ice cream you are in an ice cream shop. if you find dead bodies please call the police, you have just discovered a serial killer, if that person is in the room with you fight them, run, then call the police. lots of pictures of boys means they probably love boys, and the same goes for girls. if the person has lots of guns and ammo they are scared that the government is going to take over, or that a civil war is going to break out, make friends with this person because if they are right you know they have years worth of food storage and enough guns and ammo to command a small militia unit, and will probably survive linger than anyone else. if you mix all that with religious things you have probably just met a white supremacist. True be it that items will tell you a lot about a person, most of what we do is make assumptions and classify people into stereo types, but even stereo types are based on some sort of truth.
